This year might not have turned out the way we anticipated but this should not be a reason for us not to prepare for 2022. All wealthy people plan and prepare to grab opportunities. Merely hoping and wishing that 2022 will be better is not a very good strategy. We have got to do something about it by setting clear personal goals for 2022.
Your personal goals should be split into the following areas: financial, spiritual, health/physical, professional/career, social/community, family, and personal development. Goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound. You will need to develop an action plan to achieve your goals for 2022.
Personal goals give you a structure for what your life will look like in 2022. You will have something to look forward to and to pray for. Your actions will now be prioritized to achieve these goals. Your mind will become attuned to what it should focus on next year. You will not aimlessly wander around in 2022. You’ll be very clear what you need to focus on.
You will need to review your goals and performance on a monthly basis to see how you’re progressing. Based on this feedback you will course correct and change plans.
By having written goals which you’re committed to you increase your odds of success in 2022. You send a message to your brain that you mean business. Your brain is going to perform some neuro chemical magic to get you what you want.
Human beings have an in built goal seeking mechanism called a servomechanism. Once we focus on a goal our senses begin to pick up and act on signals in the environment to push us towards our goals. This principle is well illustrated in a book called Psycho Cybernetics by Dr. Maltz Maxwell.
Servomechanisms can be found in air conditioners, cars, laser guided missiles, etc. A servomechanism works by establishing a target or performance parameter. It then begins to move towards the target. As it moves it collects feedback information from the environment. It then keeps adjusting its movement in response to the information picked up until it reaches its target. It is just like the way a laser guided missile works.
So if you want to grab 2022 by the horns you need to design your own servomechanism by having clear written goals which you are committed to. Once you’ve written down your goals begin at once to execute them in small steps. Do your part and leave the rest to the grand design. You need to do your part before heavenly treasures are unlocked in your life.
