We live in a culture where we prefer to blame other people for our problems. We are afraid to accept responsibility for our lives. It’s easier to blame the government, our parents, spouses, friends, etc. than to face the person in the mirror.
True there are structural issues in any society. The government may not work so well. The economics may not favour the less privileged. The women maybe marginalised. The structural issues are difficult to change.
But we can do something at the individual level. We may not be able to build more hospitals but we can sanitize, avoid crowds, wear masks and also choose to get vaccinated.
Same thing with our finances. We may not be able to improve the economy but we can choose to be more enterprising and manage our resources better.
Taking responsibility is a choice. When we accept responsibility for our lives we begin to control our destinies.
