You need to think for yourself

We need to learn to think for ourselves if we are to achieve any meaningful success in life. All the great breakthroughs in science, technology, economics, politics, etc. were made by people who thought independently.

We now live in an age of information abundance and fake news. The media and advertisers are all fighting for our limited attention. We have to discern what is true and in our best interests. Question everything. Form your own opinions. Share your thoughts and ideas to validate them. Seek out and find disconfirming views. Openly engage with people who disagree with you. Don’t blindly follow people and mass opinions. Have the courage to follow through on the paths you choose.

Learning to think for yourself is a super power in the information age. The few who acquire it get to reap the rewards of increased wisdom and wealth.
