Schools remain closed – now what?

Traditional school will remain closed for the foreseeable future for many learners across the globe. This is actually a great opportunity. Traditional education needs significant reform and this is our opportunity.

The future of education is a highly customized learning program suited to the learner and their environment. It is student led and develops the learners innate gifts and talents. It is not premised on assessments and exams. It is practical and equips the learner with the right knowledge and skills to solve problems in their community and create practical solutions.

Personalised home schooling is the new normal. We have to adapt. There are many online curricular and local private tutors. It’s a great opportunity for early learning professionals to develop flexible home based learning solutions without the constraints of traditional curricular. It’s also a great opportunity for people who have lost employment to change careers and join the education profession and provide customized learning at home and online. It’s also a great opportunity for parents to take charge of their kids education.

There is a great need for modern educators who will teach relevant knowledge and skills to early learners especially in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths). We need a new breed of educators who will embrace modern ways of learning and help kids become the best versions of themselves.
