You have to be patient !

They say great things come to those wait. Unfortunately we live in a very fast world where we have become accustomed to instant gratification. We take rides using apps on our phones. We shop online. We have access to many people through social media. News and gossip spreads like wild fire. We want to get rich quick. We want quick fixes to our problems.

The thing is this is not how success works. The journey to success is long and filled with lot’s of troubles. That is why there are very few successful people in the world. The majority of the global population do not live fulfilled lives. The few who succeed have mastered the art of being patient.

In this world of quick fixes, patience is a super power. We have to train our brains to think in terms of 10 year cycles. To really become good at something you need at least 10 years of diligent practice. To build a truly successful career you need at least 10 years. To build a great business you have to stick in the game for 10 years. There are no shortcuts. You can try to shortcut the process but it won’t last. So don’t quit in your second year of business. Don’t be quick to resign from a job because you don’t see future prospects. Don’t quit your marriage when you hit a few rough patches. Don’t give up on your dream when the going gets tough.

Whatever you choose to do, decide from the start that you’re going to stick with it for at least 10 years. Give it your all. I can guarantee that you will achieve what you’re looking for. You may need to change direction several times but you will eventually get there. Whatever the case now is not the time to throw in the towel. You have to be patient.
