It’s not your fault that the economy is terrible. It’s not your fault that your company has downsized. It is not your fault that your partner cheated on you. It’s not your fault that you come from a certain country and you’re born into a particular family. There are certain historical and structural issues within our society which we can’t do much about.
However it is our responsibility to make the most of the cards we are dealt with. It is our responsibility to exert effort on worthy causes. To make a difference in our lives, our families, communities, countries, and humanity. We each can play a small role in making the world a better place.
