Chicken are now 5 weeks! We have lost 6 birds which represents a mortality rate of 12%. In absolute numbers small but as a proportion of the stocking quantity of 52 chicks quite high.
The following vaccines have been given so far:
Week 1 – Newcastle IB
Week 2 – Gumboro I
Week 3 – Gumboro II
Week 4 – Newcastle Lasota
Week 5 – Fowl Pox
The artificial heat is nolonger being applied as the chicks have developed sufficient feather cover and can now regulate their own body temperature.
Otherwise not so bad for a novice farmer!
